Garden Snail
The Garden Snail is the typical snail you will find in a backyard. The digestive process of the snail begins in the small mouth where tiny organisms such as flies and insects are eaten. The food of the snail enters the mouth The snail’s digestive system starts with its buccal mass. The buccal mass is used in its mouth and is used to intake the food. After going through the mouth, it is then broken down. The oesophagus is connected to the stomach and is used to transport the crushed up food from the mouth to the sack-shaped stomach. In the stomach the food is broken down further by acids. The intestines absorb the necessery nutrients. The waste product is then excreted through the anus.
